![]() ![]() If you want to register your places in a hierarchy to have better control, Gramps is the only tool that support that. ![]() One of the hugest benefits of Gramps is all the data you can register, it's the only software I know of that have feature that support most name standards in the World, so if you want to be able to register names with types, and dates for when a name was used by a person, and not create custom none-standard Name Events for them, Gramps is the only tool that support that. If you would like the freedom of controlling your own data, then you find your self a good software for desktop offline use, Gramps is one of the best, most advanced genealogy software in the later category. Gramps and other desktop genealogy and research software is not for everyone, if you like to have other companies controlling your data, you would like to stay online on some solution som private company provide. ![]() I suggest you actually just test it out your self, Gramps are free, Open Source and can be installed on any of the 3 large platform relatively easy. I can give you 250 reasons for why Gramps is better than MH, but all of them only apply to my own workflow and concerns. If you want people to give you answers for what of the benefits of one software over another is, then you need to also tell what you are looking for, what's important for you. ![]()
